It is Guam’s vision that all our children and families will have healthy minds, bodies and spirits for lifelong success.

Project Kariñu, Guam’s Early Childhood System of Care, is a program that provides promotion, prevention and intervention for children 0-5 and their families, related to the development of healthy social and emotional well-being.

We conduct an Assessment of Child and Family Function. We provide individualized delivery of services that support early childhood mental health and considers the unique needs of each family. A System of Care is a philosophy with specific values and principles that drive the manner in which the identified services will be provided. “Kariñu” is a Chamorro verb which means “to cuddle”, in this context providing the care and nurturance necessary for children to be emotionally healthy.

Project Kariñu’s VISION: All our children and families will have healthy minds, bodies and spirits for lifelong success. Project Kariñu’s MISSION STATEMENT: Guided by Systems of Care values and principles, Project Kariñu will develop and implement a sustainable, collaborative System of Care that promotes young children’s social, emotional, behavioral, and developmental health and provides family-driven supports and services for the children and their families.
