The Guam Historic Resources Division, also known as the State Historic Preservation Office mission is to engage in a comprehensive historic preservation program that promotes the use, conservation, preservation, and presentation of historic properties. Our Goal is to implement projects and activities that help us achieve our planned goals.

Comprehensive Statewide Historic Preservation Plan (State Plan 2007-2011)
To join the National program, and to continue receiving Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) Grants, Guam must update its NPS-approved State Plan every 5 years. The current plan will be updated in 2012.

HPF Grants:
By submission and approval of fiscal year HPF grant applications, the Division receives HPF grants from the National Park Service, U. S. Department of the Interior, to implement planned goals. HPF Grant amounts are based on apportionments determined by the U.S. Congress. Grants are obligated to the 50 States, Territories, Commonwealths and Freely Associated States.
